The ideal way to see Arkansas' Buffalo River is from the water. Around one bend a heron silently fishes in the canoeshallows. The next bend reveals a magnificent limestone bluff or perhaps the perfect gravel bar campsite. Buffalo Camping and Canoeing is a full service canoe rental and shuttle service. With access to several river access points, we offer canoe trips lasting as little as an afternoon, or as long as 12 days. We service the Middle District of the river. This section is classified as class 1 white water which is the easiest and suitable for beginning canoeist's. If this is your first trip we will be happy to give you some basic instruction in canoeing.

What You Should Know

BE EARLY: Your group should arrive at least 30 minutes earlier than your scheduled shuttle leaves. This will enable your group leader to fill out paperwork, ask pertinent questions, and load you up. We also have a safety video we wish you to view before you embark on your float trip.

CHECK RIVER LEVELS: It is always a good idea to call and check river level a few days before your trip. The Buffalo River is the last major Ozark stream in Arkansas which is not dammed. Consequently the water level varies depending on rainfall.

EQUIPMENT. Life jackets and paddles are provided with all rentals.

SAFETY:
1. All children, 13 and under, are required by law to wear their life jackets at all times while canoeing.
2. All canoes are required to have a trash bag, which must be secured while canoeing.
3. All gear such as ice chests and camping gear must be secured by a bungi cord or rope.
4. All beverages must be in a floatable can cooler.
5. No glass containers are allowed.
6.Open containers of alcohol or boating under the influence are ticket-able offenses.

POLICY: All floats go rain or shine! Unless the river is officially closed by high water levels. Full price collected for all canoes reserved.
